South Bridge Boat House, Concord

South Bridge Boat House

496 Main St. (route 62), Concord, Tel. 978-369-9438

This is on the Sudbury River just before it joins the Assabet River into the Concord River, so it is a good place to start and explore different directions. You can canoe down to the historic Concord North Bridge and back in less than an hour. It's highly recommend it. It is a little less expensive and less crowded to go on weekdays rather than weekends. They do have some canoes big enough for a family of five.

Nashoba Paddler, Groton

Nashoba Paddler at 978/448-8699
PO Box 228, West Groton MA 01472

Canoe and Kayak rentals on the Nashua river. Life vests included. Summer camps for kids available.

The flatwater, 46-mile long Nashua River starts in Lancaster, Ma. and winds its way through and conservation lands of Leominster, Lancaster, Harvard, Ayer, Shirley, Groton, and Pepperell, Ma. before crossing the border into Hollis and Nashua, N.H. You’re likely to see some blue herons, owls, turtles, osprey, and an occasional beaver, mink, or deer. Put in at our riverside rental base in W. Groton and paddle for hours in either direction. Fishing is allowed.
